This document follows in the footsteps of his predecessors, reaffirming the Church\u2019s commitment to the poor. From John XXIII to Francis, it highlights a tradition of defending social justice in the face of hunger, misery, and the crises of the contemporary world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/leo-xiv\/en\/apost_exhortations\/documents\/20251004-dilexi-te.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Download the Apostolic Exhortation<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are many more, but here are some standout quotes from the exhortation, notable for their sense of faith, charitable outlook, Christian love, and the Church\u2019s role towards those most in need:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cIn the wounded face of the poor, we see imprinted the suffering of the innocent, and therefore the very suffering of Christ.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cLack of equity is the root of all social evils.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cGod chooses the poor\u2026 this \u2018preference\u2019 never implies exclusivity or discrimination against other groups\u2026\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cChristian love overcomes every barrier, brings the distant closer, gathers strangers, reconciles enemies, crosses humanly insurmountable chasms, and reaches the most hidden corners of society.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cThe Church that places no limits on love, that knows no enemies to fight but only men and women to love, is the Church the world needs today.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cEvery person living in poverty should be able to hear: \u2018I have loved you.\u2019 That is the promise and our compass&#8230;\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cTo imitate Christ poor, naked, and despised\u2026 with the goal of building a society and a Church where no one feels abandoned.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cWhen we encounter someone sleeping outdoors\u2026 how do we respond?
