On Monday, January 17th, a short course began at the “Casa de la Iglesia” in Xalapa, Veracruz, for 20 neo-priests of the Archdiocese of Xalapa. The course was led by Father Antonio Rivero, LC, who taught them on the topic \u201cThe Importance of Spiritual Direction\u201d. As part of the activities of this course, the new Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Xalapa, Monsignor Jorge Carlos Patr\u00f3n Wong, participated virtually, highlighting the importance of this topic, congratulating the priests for their dedication to the Lord.<\/p>\n

The course, held at the Major Seminary \u201cSan Rafael Gu\u00edzar y Valencia\u201d from January 17 to 20, was also attended by the auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese, Monsignor Jos\u00e9 Rafael Palma, as well as the apostolic administrator, Monsignor Jos\u00e9 Trinidad Zapata Ortiz, with whom Father Rivero also concelebrated.<\/p>\n

Monsignor Jorge Carlos Patr\u00f3n Wong reiterated to the priests of his new diocese that they have his support and spoke about the importance of spiritual direction. He shared his own experience from his years as a priest and bishop: \u201cspiritual direction helped me a lot in my progress in prayer and discernment in my priestly and episcopal life,\u201d he mentioned.<\/p>\n

The coordinators of the LOGOS apostolate in the city of Xalapa, Mr. Luis Uscanga Campos and his wife, Mrs. Socorro Gonz\u00e1lez Mora, also participated with a brief talk about the LOGOS apostolate and its activities, and invited the diocesan priests to the upcoming spiritual exercises.<\/p>\n
