\u201cI am not sure if at this moment in your life you want to know something about God, whether you are a believer or not, but I can be certain that you want to have a happy life, a full life, a well-lived life. The more years pass, the more I realize that it is very difficult to have that happy, full, well-lived life if we leave God aside. I do not say this from the perspective of a religious person, but from that of a man who has experienced a before and after in his life\u201d (H. \"The<\/a>Who\u00a0is Adri\u00e1n Olvera, LC?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

I am a beloved and redeemed child of God. I was born in the port of Veracruz (Mexico). I am blessed to have my mom and dad, an older sister who already has two daughters, and I am 31 years old. Thanks to God, today we are a family very close to God, but it was not always like that. Before, we were more a family of habit: weddings, graduations…, but with a very cold faith, turning to God only when we felt bad or had some problem. Catholics in name, but not in life.<\/span><\/p>\n

I joined\u00a0the Legion of Christ\u00a0in 2013, after\u00a0<\/span>being a collaborator<\/span><\/a> of the Regnum Christi<\/span>\u00a0for<\/span>\u00a0a year in\u00a0<\/span>Canc\u00fan.\u00a0<\/span>I did my novitiate and humanities studies in the city of <\/span>Monterrey<\/span>, then moved to<\/span>\u00a0Rome\u00a0to study <\/span>philosophy<\/span>\u00a0at the <\/span>Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum<\/a>. My<\/span> apostolic practices were carried out\u00a0in Guadalajara<\/span>\u00a0(Mexico)<\/span> and now I am studying\u00a0<\/span>my first year of <\/span>theology, in Rome.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The book: \u201cThe most important decision\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

A personal experience motivated me to write this book. I had no doubt that I should\u00a0<\/span>share<\/span>\u00a0this experience. I lived it, I experienced it, and I saw that many young people<\/span> and many others <\/span>were going through the same situation. I realized that, even as a religious, I was getting tired\u00a0of the way<\/span>\u00a0I<\/span>\u00a0lived my Catholic faith, my relationship with God.<\/span> It made me feel as if I had a straitjacket, as if\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>no\u00a0longer\u00a0being free<\/span>\u201d<\/span>. And deep inside, something was telling me<\/span>\u00a0:<\/span>\u00a0\u201c<\/span>\u00a0this\u00a0<\/span>cannot be\u201d, \u201cthis I am living cannot be\u201d, \u201cCatholicism is not a relationship with God\u201d, \u201cI don\u2019t feel<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>free, I don\u2019t feel<\/span>\u00a0full\u201d<\/span>. I realized\u00a0<\/span>and became more aware<\/span>\u00a0that\u00a0<\/span>I<\/span>\u00a0had<\/span>\u00a0many images of God in my mind that were not God. There were many images\u00a0<\/span>in my culture <\/span>that were not God.<\/span> I had the grace to take this path, to remove false ideas of God in order to reach a true God, who is Father, who is love. And\u00a0<\/span>this\u00a0<\/span>changed my life. Seeing that many people live this feeling of Catholicism, I was convinced I had to share my experience, and that is why I <\/span>wrote<\/span>\u00a0the book.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many of us, without realizing it, have been living a relationship with \u201cthe idea of God\u201d, with the God that someone has presented to us but that is far from the true God, from the Person of Christ. In the book, I propose three ideas of God with which we usually relate, and which make us experience Christianity as a straitjacket. It is not a manual or a series of steps to follow; it is an invitation to undertake a path toward the knowledge of the true God. But the key is that it is done by conviction, it is a path taken by personal decision.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
