On July 22, Mons. Cristi\u00e1n Roncagliolo, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Santiago, presided over the diaconal ordination ceremony of brother Jos\u00e9 Pablo Poblete LC, in the chapel of Colegio Cumbres<\/a>. Present at the ceremony were his family, priests of the Legion of Christ, and his brother Andr\u00e9s, who is also on the path to priesthood.<\/p>\n

A few minutes before the ceremony began, in the sacristy, Monsignor Roncagliolo, together with the territorial director of the Legionaries of Christ, Father Gabriel B\u00e1rcena, and some close to the candidate for deacon, took the oath of living the Catholic faith, in which Jos\u00e9 Pablo pledged obedience to his superiors and to the Bishop, a formality typical of this solemnity.<\/p>\n

Following health protocols, the number of guests was limited, which is why this solemnity was broadcast live through the Regnum Christi Chile YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During the homily, Monsignor Roncagliolo invited brother Jos\u00e9 Pablo to give his life entirely to the Lord. He proposed making his vocation a choice for the poor, saying \u201cit is our task to awaken consciences\u201d and at the same time \u201cto give testimony to young people with your words and life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope that when you arrive, in the examination of conscience, perhaps very sleepy and very tired, you can thank the Lord because you gave everything in the passionate adventure of announcing the kingdom of God and his justice.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

His family<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Brother Jos\u00e9 Pablo is the son of the marriage of Jos\u00e9 Pablo Poblete and Mar\u00eda Luisa Madrid. He is the eldest of five siblings, of whom the second, Andr\u00e9s, also chose the priesthood two years after his older brother. For his two younger brothers, it is a pride that Jos\u00e9 Pablo chose the priesthood.<\/p>\n

His time at Colegio Cumbres<\/strong><\/h4>\n

He completed his primary and secondary education at Colegio Cumbres, an institution from which he graduated in the 2007 class. It was during his school years that he discovered his vocation to the priesthood, through the daily communion he could receive at each recess, as well as through the various activities carried out in the areas of social participation and spiritual formation.<\/p>\n

After finishing his school stage, he entered the Novitiate and studied Humanities in Salamanca, Spain, then studied Philosophy and Theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum<\/a> in Rome, Italy. His apostolic practices were carried out in Milan, Italy, and S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil. He will soon move to live in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he will work in service of young people.<\/p>\n
